We all know eating disorders are bad. We've heard the lectures, seen the movies and read the facts, but it never hits us until it hits home.
Today I happened to stumble across a series of pro-anorexic (or 'pro-ana') websites, including some on our own MySpace!


Just look at this image, of an actual myspace user:


This person's friends left comments saying this look is 'perfect' and expressed a strong desire to look just like that. Even saying this person has attributes the whole world shoud be jealous of.
I find this absolutely disgusting and sickening to see people with eating distorders promoting their illness, possibly infecting others with their motivation to get sicker and sicker. These online support groups are one of the most dangerous reasons of patients with eating disorders not being able to recover EVEN after a long hospitalization and psychotherapy.

This woman myspace.com/loveproana and her friends truly worry me, in the way they 'help' others stick with their disorder and feel proud of it.
I truly think that these sorts of things should NOT be displayed on popular and accessible websites like myspace.com, and I am appalled by the fact that no one has done anything about it.

Please support HEALTHY men and women in today's society by sending a message to myspace and telling them you disagree with this phenomenon!

The lives of some young people may be depending on it! This is not another wasted 5 minutes of your time!
